Young Rising Stars - Meet Ellis and Ellis.
We spoke to 2 of the rising stars in the Michael Barugh Steel family to get their thoughts on working for the company
I've worked at Michael Barugh Steel Stockholding Ltd for just over 4 years. I started as an apprentice covering both business admin and then sales. When I first joined the company I found everyone really helpful and they provided help and support throughout my training. I never had to struggle with anything as someone would always step up to help out.

I've worked at Michael Barugh Steel Stockholding Ltd for just over 4 years. I started as an apprentice covering both business admin and then sales. I never had to struggle with anything as someone would always step up to help out.
Over the 4 years I've been here, one of my favourite things has been getting out on the road, visiting customers face to face - this is the part of the job I love the most. By letting me do that, I feel the company has confidence in me and my abilities. I get positive feedback on what I'm doing which is really great for my development.
There's a real family feel about working here. Over the next few years I'd love to get out on the road more as well as enjoying my time in the office. I'm really happy that I have the whole team supporting me with everything I do.
I've just finished my level 2 qualifications and I'm looking to progress to level 3. I'm really pleased that the company is backing me and encouraging me and I'm looking forward to staying with the business for a long time!
Meet Ellis Jumps
I've been working for the company for just over 3 years now. I already knew Mark who works for the company and he told me about the business. He suggested I come down and have a chat to see what I thought and to see if I was interested - which I was!
I also started on a business admin apprenticeship and then I did business sales. I've really enjoyed working on the sales side from day one and the admin goes hand in hand with it. I love chatting to customers on a daily basis, building friendships and getting to know them.
I enjoyed learning different sales techniques and how to keep on top of admin. I've also benefitted from the checks we put in place to make sure we don't miss anything.
I've made friends in the company, we all have a laugh and there's a real family feel to the business. A lot of our customers are very loyal and I think that's down to building strong relationships with them. They get really good service from us and we want to look after them.
